A Panorex is a 2-dimensional x-ray that displays the entire mouth. It covers a wider area than a normal dental x-ray. Not only does it show the teeth, it also displays the upper and lower jaw and surrounding tissues. This film allows your dental provider the ability to plan treatment for dentures, extractions, and implants. The Panorex films are helpful for children. It shows eruption of the adult teeth, congenital missing teeth, and extra teeth. It is also often used for orthodontic assessment.
